John E. Abdo is the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the Executive Committee of BankAtlantic Bancorp, Inc., and holds the same position respectively at BankAtlantic, FSB,. He is Vice Chairman of Woodbridge Holdings (formerly Levitt Corporation) and is the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bluegreen Corporation. He is the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors for BFC Financial Corporation. He is the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Benihana, Inc. and has been a member of the board of Directors of Benihana, Inc. since 1990. He is on the Board of Directors of the Broward Performing Arts Foundation along with serving on the Board of Directors of PACA (Broward Performing Arts Authority.) He is a successful real estate investor and developer in his own right and has made a career of developing residential communities as well as commercial structures throughout South Florida for more than 35 years. Mr. Abdo is a graduate of Florida State University and has a grown son and daughter.
